ITINERARY

DAY 0
--TBA--. Rendezvous at PV hotel. Relax around the pool. We’ll help you assemble bikes.
DAY 1
---TBA-- . P.V. to Tomatlan (98 km or 70 km option). The first part of the day is mostly climbing, the second half is 25 km of downhill followed by flat. A good portion of the of the day is climbing, fortunately, is in the shade from the jungles and hills. Finish in TOMATLAN– ‘Place of tomatoes’, A large agricultural village off the beaten path. We’ll be the only tourists there.
DAY 2
---TBA--Tomatlan to Punta Perula (59 km). Pretty, short flat ride, finish at PUNTA PERULA, a small Mexican fishing village situated on a 10 mile long beach. Great swimming, very few if any other tourists know of this town.
DAY 3
---TBA--. Punta Perula to Melaque (80 km). A relatively hilly ride to one of our favorite towns, MELAQUE. On route we will stop for some great seafood and a swim at La Manzanilla . Crocodiles lounge in a nearby lagoon.
DAY 4
---TBA--A rest day in Melaque. Relax on the beach, go snorkeling, or do nothing. We all deserve some margaritas on pina coladas. Some of us typically go out for a short spin if you want a few extra miles.
DAY 5:
---TBA--. Melaque to Santiago (45 km or 85 km option). A flat fast ride through miles of coconut and banana plantations. End up on a beach in Santiago, a tourist suburb north of the Port MANZANILLO. Some good ocean swimming and some snorkeling right off the beach of our hotel.
DAY 6
---TBA--. Santiago to Cuyutlan (55 km or 85 km option). We’ll skirt around the industrial port of Manzanillo and end up biking through more coconut and banana plantations. In the afternoon there is an optional tour of a turtle sanctuary and a boat ride through a huge lagoon. Our hotel is in the small Mexican beach town of Cuyutlan, - 10 mile long beach with no tourists on it.
DAY 7
---TBA-- Cuyutlan to Colima (80 km). We move inland today to our favorite city Colima. We climb close to two thousand feet, but an early start will beat the heat. Stay in a historic hotel located on the town Plaza.
DAY 8
---TBA-- A day trip in Colima (55 km). We will ride alongside some farmer fields. The backdrop for today’s ride is a 14,000 ft. active volcano. Some local mexican riders usually join us for today’s’ ride.
DAY 9
---TBA-- Colima to Santiago (60 km or 125 km option). Ride a very quiet back country road through back farmland and forests on the old highway to Manzanillo. Rolling hills, lots of climbs. Finish in the small town of Minatitlan, where we shuttle (90 min ride) back to Santiago.
DAY 10
---TBA--. After breakfast you are on your own. We'll
help you board a bus or point you in the right direction. You are responsible
for return transportation to P.V. Bus service is excellent – we’ll help
you purchase your tickers. From Manzanillo it is a 5 hour bus back to
Puerto Vallarta ($35). You may choose to visit Guadalajara (5 hrs) or
one of the small beach towns we passed through on our tour. We transport
your bike back to Puerto Vallarta. Many people in the past have chosen
to spend extra time in either Melaque or Punta Perula. We are happy to
help people make hotel reservations for extended stay.
