Getting There & Back:

Our trip starts and finishes in Bastia. Arriving by air is the most convenient way to get there. Frequent flights depart to/from mainland France to Bastia, several operated by Air France and its partner CCM Airlines also known as Air Corsica. Bastia Airport (BIA) is located in the town of Lucciana, 14 miles/22 kilometers southeast of Bastia. Note: most flights From Paris to Bastia leave from Orly Airport.
Flying into Nice (NCE) and ferry over to Bastia is another option.
Ferry departures to Bastia are available from Nice, Toulon, Savona & Livorno among others. Ferry info click here. Reservations are a good idea, bikes pay around 10€ return.
From Paris Charles De Gaulle (CDG) airport you could also go to the TGV station (Gare de Lyon) and take a train either to Toulon or Nice and then take the ferry to Bastia. Train info cilck here.

The Riding:

Known as “the mountain in the sea” Corsica has rolling, winding terrain, and mountainous roads with stunning views. We will average 65-100 km per day. You are given a map and road log each day. Bike at whatever speed you like. Odds are there will be someone that likes to bike at your speed. Our van will transport your gear from hotel to hotel; van does not follow up behind riders, but will return to get riders if need be. Our van will carry a comprehensive set of tools and a floor pump. Helmets are mandatory. A safety vest is a GOOD idea.
People are expected to bike the full distance, though if your knees are sore or if your legs need a day of rest; arrangements can be made for a shuttle every day. Given the distances best bring a road bike, though a mountain or hybrid bike with slick tires will work too.

Accommodations:

We will rest in a variety of hotels, clean and well situated. Most will be very nice and some quite basic. Rooms are booked on a double occupancy basis; if traveling solo and would like to share accommodations we’ll try to find you a same sex roommate, if this is not possible because hotel pricing, we’ll collect 50% of the single supplement fee on the final payment (----- ). If a roommate is found we’ll refund you the supplement fee. Nights from -----TBA ----are included in the package. Note, if you are arriving early or staying a few extra days and want us to book you into the same hotel we use, please give us lots of notice to make reservations for you.

Meals:

All breakfasts continental style and 2 dinners are included in the package. Cyclists are on their own for other meals. Fruit & snacks will be available for your rides. You’ll be able to find patisseries, bakeries and small food stores during our rides, when possible (depending on hotel policies) we’ll have “happy hour” with snacks and beverages after your ride to tie us over until restaurants open in the evenings. .

Climate:

Corsica has Mediterranean climate but varies with altitude. In September daytime average highs reach between 26C/24C and lows 15C/12C. The region typically receives about 50mm of rain in September. In October daytime average highs reach between 22C/20C and lows 12C/10C. The region typically receives about 88mm of rain.

$200 non-refundable deposit reserves a spot. Full payment is due 60 days before the tour start (--- / ----). Sorry we aren’t able to process credit cards. Please pay by cheque. Thanks.
Cancellation fee 31-60 days prior to the start: Full deposit + 20% final payment.
Cancellation fee 1-30 days prior to the start: Full deposit + 40% final payment.
